River Rescue is a community event to help clean up our local waterways in the Paw Paw and Black River Watersheds. Many partnering organizations and municipalities are joining in this year’s efforts to clean up trash in and along the banks of our waters to ensure a healthier habitat for our wildlife and cleaner water all around.
Volunteers can make a difference; last year volunteers cleaned up thousands of pounds of trash like tires, couches, bikes, gas tanks, cans and wrappers from our rivers, creeks and streams. This year the District has sites for both paddlers and groups that would like to be on foot bankside. The Conservation District provides everything essential for a successful clean up: bags, gloves, water, snacks, first aid kits and more.
