Notice of 2023 Regular Meeting Schedule for the Van Buren Conservation District

To all residents and landowners of Van Buren County, notice is hereby given that the Van Buren Conservation District’s regularly scheduled meetings for the 2023 calendar year will be held on the fourth Wednesday of each month at 10:00 AM at the Van Buren Conservation District office (1035 E Michigan Ave., Paw Paw, MI 49079) unless otherwise noted.  Up to date meeting information and agendas can be found prior to the meetings at https://vanburencd.org/news/. Farming for the Future 2023 – Brochure Available

Farming for the Future is an annual educational event for local farmers and is a great opportunity to learn from agricultural specialists, educators, researchers, businesses, and other farmers. This year’s event is scheduled for March 7, 2023 at the Van Buren Conference Center from 9:00 AM – 3:30 PM. Topics this year will include soil health basics, carbon/nitrogen ratios, no-till strategies with break-out sessions on grazing, grain, and perennial fruit crops. A MAEAP Phase 1 credit will be available for attendees along with RUP credits. Doors will open at 8:30 AM. Free lunch will also be provided. This event is

New Recycling Services!

The VBCD and our partners are excited to bring more recycling opportunities to Van Buren County residents and landowners! Starting January 24, 2023, lithium-ion battery collection sites and a new year-round electronics recycling collection site will open. In partnership with Senior Services of Van Buren County, we have added a second year-round electronics recycling collection site in South Haven. This electronics collection site is in addition to our other year-round electronics collection site in Paw Paw through our partnership with Lakeview Community Thrift Store. 2023 Backyard Symposium Webinar Series

The Van Buren Conservation District is excited to announce that we are once again hosting a virtual Backyard Symposium! The series is called “Building a Better Backyard: Branching Beyond Your Backyard.” This is an online speaker series hosted on Zoom in which folks have been invited to talk about a host of topics that connect people with the wildlife and environment around us.
