The Van Buren Conservation District (VBCD), along with our partners, are excited to share big news! The VBCD and seven communities secured grant funding in 2023 to improve transfer station infrastructure.
We, at the VBCD, commit to recycling and increasing recycling access for our community. Through this project, we are working in partnership to meet that goal.
Currently, there are nine trash and/or recycling drop off stations in Van Buren County.
These grant projects partner with our municipality transfer stations in:
- Arlington Township (new recycling service)
- Bangor Township
- Bloomingdale Township
- Covert Township
- Decatur Township, Hamilton Township, and Village of Decatur (new year-round service)
- Geneva/South Haven Township
- Paw Paw Township
Funding for this project was made possible through the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy Recycling Infrastructure Grant and The Recycling Partnership. Matching funds were provided by our municipal partners and the Van Buren County Board of Commissioners. We thank our municipal partners, county commissioners, and grant providers for their hard work, funding, and support. Without this partnership, this project would not have been possible.
Pardon our dust as projects progress. Look out for details on signs, websites, and social media about changes to hours (as applicable). We can’t wait to see your excitement for the new services upon project completions!
