New year, new events! Well not new events, but new dates. Our collection events for 2025 are all set and ready for you.
We will be hosting two types of events this year, our biggest being the Recycle Roundups.
At our Recycle Roundup events, we offer safe disposal and recycling of the following items:
- Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) – household chemicals, oil-based paint, batteries, lightbulbs, and more!
- Foam (polystyrene, Styrofoam™) – watch our video for acceptable items.
- Electronics – check out acceptable items here
- Tires – passenger and semi sized tires, must be pre-registered at least 2 business days prior to the event.
At our Passenger & Semi Tire and Electronic Collection events, we accept items just as the name suggests: tires and electronics. These events move to locations further from our year-round services for your convenience.

- May 22, 2025 | Hartford City Hall | Parking lot behind City Hall, Hartford | 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM
- September 18, 2025 | Almena Township Hall | 27625 CR 375, Paw Paw | 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM
Important Collection Notes
All tires need to be pre-registered at least two days before the event. Pre-register your tires at VanBurenCD.org/van-buren-county-recycling-collections or call 269-633-9314. Businesses are not allowed to participate unless prior arrangements are made. When attending our collection events, proof of Van Buren County residency or land ownership is needed (e.g. drivers license, tax bill, utility bill).
