Event Information
Safety first – just like any time you’re on the water! Bring your watercraft (boats, canoes, kayaks, etc.), personal flotation device, and safety whistle. Gloves and nets or other devices are handy to have. We will provide the trash bags.
We want you, our cleanup volunteers, to have a fun, safe experience. We will use the buddy system and cleanup leaders will help guide you.

Cancellations
This event will occur rain or shine. However, in the event of inclement weather or other changes, we will notify registered attendees of event cancellation.
Accessibility
This event is outdoors and on the water. We encourage all attendees to be mindful of their abilities and needs and other conditions that could affect their ability to participate. When able, the VBCD is committed to providing accommodations.
- Weather: We encourage attendees to check for weather conditions and dress and prepare accordingly for the weather.
- Terrain: Terrain may be on unpaved paths and uneven ground or otherwise difficult to traverse.
- Safety: We encourage all participants to keep their safety in mind. On water, we require safety gear such as life jackets or other personal flotation devices.
- Clothing & footwear: We encourage all participants to wear the proper clothing and footwear when attending our events. Appropriately suit your clothing and footwear to event weather conditions, terrain, and your needs. Personal flotation devices are required while on the water.
- Parking: Parking is available at several locations but could require parking further away from water access points.
- Physical ability: Cleanups are self-paced but require stamina to operate watercraft on an inland lake. Help may or may not be available to load and unload watercraft in and out of the water.
- Allergens: These outdoor events may be unsafe for those with allergies, especially those with allergies specific to the outdoors.
- Sensory: The outdoor environment may have scents, sounds, sights, and other stimuli which could affect those with sensory sensitivities.
- Restrooms: Accessible restrooms are available. They are located at Amphitheatre Park and Sunset Park. Contact us for more information.
