The VBCD and our partners are excited to bring more recycling opportunities to Van Buren County residents and landowners! Starting January 24, 2023, lithium-ion battery collection sites and a new year-round electronics recycling collection site will open.
In partnership with Senior Services of Van Buren County, we have added a second year-round electronics recycling collection site in South Haven. This electronics collection site is in addition to our other year-round electronics collection site in Paw Paw through our partnership with Lakeview Community Thrift Store. This service is free of charge to Van Buren County residents and landowners. Electronics recycling collection will still occur during our Passenger & Semi Tire & Electronics Collections and our Recycle Roundup Collections.
In partnership with local and county libraries and the Senior Services of Van Buren County, we have added lithium-ion battery collection sites located throughout the county. Here is the list of partnering organizations and their locations:
- Antwerp Sunshine Library
- Hartford Public Library
- Paw Paw District Library
- Senior Services of Van Buren County (South Haven)
- Van Buren Conservation District Office
- Van Buren District Library (VBDL) Bangor Branch
- VBDL Covert Branch
- VBDL Lawrence Branch
- VBDL (Webster Memorial Library in Decatur)
Recycling events and services are funded through the Van Buren Conservation District Operations millage; Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy grants; and in partnership with Van Buren County and local municipalities.
