Kal-Haven Trail Clean Up

We invite volunteers to join us Sunday, September 18th from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM for our Kal-Haven Trail Clean Up event! We will meet at the Kal-Haven Trail Sesquicentennial State Park (take Blue Star Hwy North of Phoenix Rd., turn to take E Wells St. West, and exit the roundabout on the first right to head North onto Bailey Ave.) parking lot in South Haven and start picking up trash from there. Fall Field Day

The Van Buren Conservation District (VBCD) is holding a Fall Field Day focused on nutrient efficiency for growers on September 7th from 9:00 AM to noon at Kolberg Family Farms (56958 68th Ave., Lawrence, MI 49064). Attendees can expect free breakfast and refreshments. The Fall Field Day brings together speakers from the VBCD who will discuss a wide range of topics concerning field crop farmers. Some topics that will be presented are the nutrient sources (timing and replacement), maximizing plant health, cover crops, no-till, equipment, and cost-share opportunities. Healthy Water Week 2022

Have you wondered how you can help keep Van Buren County’s water, land, and air healthy? If so, we hope you’ll join us at the Van Buren Conservation District’s “Healthy Water Week” event to be held from 9:00 AM – 3:30 PM Monday, August 1 through Friday, August 5 at the Van Buren Conservation District Office (USDA Center), 1035 E Michigan Ave., Paw Paw, MI 49079. MAEAP Fruit Field Day

The Van Buren Conservation District (VBCD) is holding a MAEAP Fruit Field Day for fruit growers on August 10th from 4:30 PM to 7:00 PM at Oxley Farms (29001 CR 358, Lawton, MI 49065). Attendees can expect free dinner and refreshments. The MAEAP Fruit Field Day brings together speakers from the VBCD who will discuss a wide range of topics concerning fruit farmers. You’re Invited to Our Annual Meeting, Director Election, & Picnic!

We invite you and yours to our Annual Meeting, Director Election, & Summer Picnic on Wednesday, July 27, 2022 at 5:00 PM (with an optional tour of the fish hatchery at 4:30 PM)! Summer Education

This year, the VanBuren Conservation District is partnering with Wolf Lake State Fish Hatchery to provide an outdoor educational experience for children ages 4-10. This program will take place at Wolf Lake State Fish Hatchery and will utilize all that the hatchery has to offer including fishing, pond studies, various educational hikes, scavenger hunts, nature journaling and tours of the facility. Parents/guardians are required to attend for the entirety of the program and provide their own transportation. The event will be from 10am-12pm on June 22, June 29, July 13, and July 20.
