Little Bluestem
Description Little bluestem (Schizachyrium scoparium) is a showy, ornamental perennial grass that grows in a dense mound with blue-green stems in spring. In fall and winter, the grass turns mahogany red with white seed tufts. An iconic short grass of the dry barrens of northern Michigan, little bluestem provides habitat and visual interest year-round. Its stems turns shades of bronze and auburn in late-fall with fluffy white seed heads holding on much of winter. This striking grass makes a great focus point in a garden or can be a base of a larger landscape. Contains approximately 100 seeds.
