River Rescue

Community Creek, Stream & River Trash Clean Up – Report a dumpsite along Van Buren County waterways to the Van Buren Conservation District – HERE!  Remember to describe the site location, body of water, closest road intersection and submit photos if you can! If the VBCD has sites that are reported we will call for volunteers to help clean up reported sites. Keep watch at our Volunteer Opportunities link!

Adopt A Highway

Start your adoption today – HERE!  Adopt-A-Highway is a Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) program designed to help keep the stat’s highway roadsides clean and attractive.  Participants adopt both sides of a section of state highway roadside to clean up over a two-year period.  A minimum two-mile stretch of roadway is recommended.

Adopt A Landscape

Start your adoption today – HERE!  Adopt-A-Landscape Program provides an avenue for individuals, organizations, or businesses to help maintain sections of roadside within Michigan’s State Highway System. In addition to the aesthetic benefits of cleaner and more beautiful roadsides, participants help to prevent potential pollutants from entering our waterways.

Adopt A Forest

Michigan Coalition for Clean Forests – HERE!  Healthy Trees and wildlife depend on an unpolluted environment. Cleaning up public land is essential to help restore both the beauty and recreational value of our forests. A successful cleanup needs enthusiasm as well as careful organization. This manual provides a series of steps to follow when organizing a public land cleanup in Michigan.
